Re: Team for Villa.
toadinthehole - burnt out or out of his depth? Mind you, the whole team was well out of their depth against Liverpool, but yes, Bowen has seemed a bit below par lately.

Re: Team for Villa.
Bowen needs a rest, he looked totally burnt out against Liverpool

I would go with the team that played Doncaster except Noble

Re: Team for Villa.
would like to see this with players playing on their right sides getting crosses in for Tony & Soucek

-------------------Fabianski-------------------
Coufal---Dawson--Ogbonna--Cresswell
-----------Soucek----------Rice---------------
--Lingard-------Benrahma--------Bowen--
---------------------Antonio---------------------

Re: Team for Villa.
Same team by default. It's clear now if we get any injuries we are going to be a lot weaker. It's painful seeing the likes of Noble, Yarm and Lanzini trotting off the bench now, they are of no use at all. On that basis, you can see why Lingard has come in.

Yep same again.
Need to bounce back.
Will be tough.

Chigwell 7:55 Mon Feb 1

You've mugged yourself off there son, and no mistake.
And if you think Johnson's a better bet than Benrahma you need your head examining.

Re: Team for Villa.
The team could probably do with a refresh & a rest for some but we don’t really have the options.
Suspect Lanzini might get a start and Moyes will be looking to give Lingard 20-30 mins.
Antonio will have to drop out of starting this game or Fulham if we want him to play in the FA Cup v Man U.
Suspect he will be benched v Fulham with Yarmolenko or Mipo starting.

Chigwell
and now a love in with Fredericks.
Insane. He loses the ball when running with it and can only recover because of his pace. Terrible player. Johnson would do better there,he was a winger too.

Re: Team for Villa.
Same team only we turn up this time.
Cresswell remembers he's good now, not like he used to be
Rice remembers he's an international midfielder and not a centre half just signed from Cork city reserves
Antonio remembers he's our top striker not an unfit injury prone winger who's just pocketed a fat new contract

You mean the Masuaku who can't defend and on assist in 2 years. FFS what's this insane love in with the donkey...

Bernie
You're not serious surely ?
Lanzini or Balbuena ONLY from that lot. Lingard as a sub

Pedro 8:43 Mon Feb 1
Re: Team for Villa.
Same team with different tactics.

High press and high line ( as per vs palace)

Villa will come at us and be more direct than Liverpool. Chance to get behind them.

Should be a great game.
Ref needs to strong with Grealish and not give him a free kick every time he falls to the floor.

I think youve misread vexed post mate

Chigwell 7:55 Mon Feb 1
Re: Team for Villa.
I also agree with Vexed. Fredericks has a lot of pace and would make us more dangerous on the right wing, which we are not with average left footers (Bowen or Yarmolenko) out there. Unfortunately Benrahma's tendency to dwell too long on the ball hurts us when something more direct is needed.

Hate to say it, Vexed has a point.

Spot on vexed

Re: Team for Villa.
This thread highlights some of the absolute bottom rung numpties we have on this board. Some of my favourites:

- I'd drop Benrahma for Fredericks and play Fredericks as "a right forward". ?

- Villa have a better attack than us.

- I'd be happy with a draw against fucking Villa.

Jesus fucking wept. Idiots. Fuck off.

Re: Team for Villa.
play back 3 with Benny as wing back?
Seems the most "Arthur like" player we have.

We werent playing Arthur there for his defensive abilities so it's a bit odd to play Johnson there. It was the ability of Arthur to get past players and creswell able to overlap with crosses that made that partnership special.
